YOGA STUDIO FINDS NEW LARGER LOCATION
What's new: The Yoga Room has moved to a larger location on Vine Street in Redlands and has recently added tai chi classes.
What it offers: Offers power yoga classes for all ages and skill levels. The classes are designed to help both beginners and those experienced in yoga, said owner Daniel Head. Power yoga is a system that combines physical movements with focus and breathing techniques to help bring balance. It helps strengthen and stretch every muscle while releasing tension and stress, he said.
What it costs: $12 per class or $80 for a package of 10 classes. Customers can also pay $50 a month for unlimited classes with automatic withdrawal from a banking account and a three-month minimum contract.
When it's open: Class schedule is available on the Web site, www.powerthroughyoga.com. Most classes are in the evening, with morning classes on weekends.
Where it is: 24 E. Vine St., Redlands.
About the owner: Head graduated from Cal State San Bernardino with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, the study of human movement. He is a certified personal trainer and tae bo instructor. He has practiced yoga for 13 years and has taught for the last eight years. He teaches 15 to 20 classes a week between his studio and classes at Crafton Hills College and Riverside Community College. Head has been featured in a number of DVD and television programs and in 2004 joined American Acrobats, a professional acrobat company based in Redlands that has performed all over the world.Find out more: 909-528-5312 or on the Web at www.powerthroughyoga.com.
